about craft
Blue pottery of Rajasthan is a unique ceramic craft known for its striking cobalt blue designs. Originating from Persian and Mongol influences, it flourished in Jaipur. Unlike traditional pottery, it is made from quartz, glass, and multani mitti (Fuller’s earth), giving it a delicate yet durable finish. Artisans paint intricate floral and geometric patterns using oxide colors. The craft extends beyond pottery to tiles, vases, and home décor, blending heritage with contemporary appeal while providing livelihoods to skilled artisans.
