about craft
Tankla ki durries are world famous and are woven by hand in a way that the design can be seen on both sides. The uniqueness of the technique is that there is no difference in design in the front and back.
The durries are made from cotton first the tracing is done of the design and then woven on the loom. The technique used is Panja weaving which is done on a horizontal loom. The place it is done in is Tankla, thus giving it the name of Tankla Durrie.
