about workshop
Rohit Shankar Rathod, a young Banjara embroidery entrepreneur from Babi Tanda, Beed district, Maharashtra, has been dedicated to the craft for four years. Learning from his mother and grandmother, he inherited the intricate stitches of his tribe. To preserve and promote this rich heritage, Rohit founded Banjara Embroidery, creating contemporary designs that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, making the art form more accessible and celebrating his community’s culture.
Banjara women adorned garments, accessories, and household items, blending beauty with function. Today, Lambani women in places like Beed continue this art, showcasing their resilience and preserving cultural identity through evolving markets.
